  • exFAT / NTFS file explorer MiXplorer for Android phones tablets devices

Some smartphones will read external USB flash (pen) drive and sd cards that formatted to exFAT or NTFS. But my old smartphone won't do that.

I have an older smartphone running Android 5.0 and I want it to play video files and view photo files from a 64gb exFAT sd card. I found a totally free and totally working (without any limitations) app to do what I want. I connected an OTB USB cable and sd card reader to the phone, and then opened up MiXplorer.

MiXplorer is from XDA Developers Labs -
    more info is here -

Two APK app files are needed to be installed, and you need to go to Settings - More settings - "Enable OTG" and tick ON that option. Your device must support USB host functions (OTG). I've tested it on my Samsung Note 3, Android 5.0

download the two APK files from me (no spam, no junk) -

click on photos below to see a larger image.

watch this demonstration video as an example, but *note that the MiXplorer app may be needed instead of the default file explorer.

Updated info. Using stock Android 10 (AOSP), the Mixplorer app posted above can access only exFAT but not NTFS. However, the latest (paid) version of Mixplorer could possibly access also NTFS. But I haven't tested NTFS accessibility.
