your full_img.fex firmware file is only 5750784 bytes in size. this is smaller than I have ever seen before. the 2-system.img file might be too small and/or corrupted. it didn't unpack and I got these errors:
          Code:
Read on filesystem failed because EOF
read_uids_guids: failed to read id index table
          FATAL ERROR:failed to uid/gid table
          .
is this a fresh backup of the factory original firmware data?

if you can, follow the backup video procedure but use "backup2.cmd" script file. https://youtu.be/QrhPxpFFMrc . and share the new backup file here.

Hi, petesimon. My firmware is also small, but I had no problems with the backup.

The firmware (full_img.fex) of my F60B has a size of 7,798,784 bytes. I had to use the tool "unfex-scripts-getfwinfo_20171029_small_fw" to extract the information.

I have seen that the firmwares on page 1 # 8 have 12 Mb. Can I use these larger fimwares if they are compatible with the sensor and the LCD screen?

I have not physically seen the flash memory model, although I do not know if this model of mine has another storage size than the cameras mentioned in this thread.

It's just to clarify me. I am new at this. I do not speak English and I have a hard time understanding the answers (the Google translation often tells me nonsense).

          Greetings and thanks.

      • I think I managed to kill my camera. Does anyone have any firmware for SJ4000 Air? I tried a number of them but nothing seems to work. Thanks, petesimon, for trying to help me.

Only just found this place after looking for disassembly details after dropping it into 6ft of seawater last week. Bizarrely, it survived and at present appears to be working normally. Now wondering if there is anything I can do to improve video/image quality etc.

this firmware seems to be unique because of these combined factors:
            1. Sensor is imx179s (but not imx179)
            2. FULL_IMG.FEX is 7798784 bytes
            3. Product is crane

        • Hi all
I have recently bricked my Ele Cam Explorer 4k from Gearbest with the firmware provided by them.
As a fool I didn't keep any backup
I tried flashing it with any firmware that seems to match, but nothing happens.
I wonder if the reason is that the driver of the camera isn't that Android something. But I cannot change it though.
Any help would be really appreciated

get the best possible matching firmware from this big thread by going to page 1, and by searching for "explorer" in the search box above. next follow this tutorial, starting at TIME 13:50 https://youtu.be/QrTxFjIiHvc?t=830 * do not use ADB drivers or ADB operations. you will need Allwinner Phoenixsuit recovery drivers as shown in the video.

You will need to check lcd controller and change it in the script. I can tell you that Tansuofaxian firmware works best for my elecam.

satyros - for flashing firmware via computer to camera, do these steps:
*EDIT* 0. first step. Disable Windows Driver Signature Enforcement. - search youtube for tutorial videos.

            1. remove battery, remove sd card from the camera
            2. be sure an USB cable is DIS-connected first, and press and hold UP button on camera
            3. while still holding UP button on camera, connect USB cable to computer and to camera, (USB 2 not 3 works best)
            4. open Windows Device Manager, and look for a new unknown device or strange device vid_1f3a_pid_efe8
            5. select that device, and update the drivers using RECOVERY drivers. Do not use ADB drivers.
            6. DIS-connect the camera from USB, and do above steps 1, 2, and 3 again. but skip step 5.
            7. get a firmware file " full_img.fex " and use " makeimg" tool to make a new big IMG file from the " full _img.fex " file.
            8. ... continue on with more steps as shown in the video, from TIME 14:10

You need to use Allwinner/Phoenixsuit RECOVERY drivers and not use ADB drivers, here - https://www.dropbox.com/s/fqplk0judx...river.zip?dl=0
all of these steps are already in the video from TIME 13:50, but if you want, i can explain everything more...

But when I try toy update the driver the computer says the best driver for my device is already installed

Tansuofaxian is "Product" but you can try any "Product". However, you must match Sensor and LCD. To try some firmware files that are different "Product"s but GC9305 and the correct Sensor. Maybe some full_img.fex as 8126464 bytes size would work. You can search this number in the search box [ ] above.

PROBLEM SOLVED thanks to Allwinner Facebook group admin. Here are his advice:
to use different LCD driver in a firmware for example LCD GC9305, follow these steps:
create two new folders, folder "1" and folder "2". get a full_img.fex file 7798784 bytes size that uses GC9305 LCD. put this file in folder "1". get scripts from this link https://is.gd/bmCvV5 and unzip the scripts into folder "1". run UNFEX.BAT script. run SCRIPTBIN_READ.BAT script. choose option "2) UNFEX/0-uboot.img". Copy script.bin file to folder "2". get another full_img.fex file 7798784 bytes size that works but shows white screen. put this file in folder "2". again unzip scripts from this link https://is.gd/bmCvV5 into folder "2". run script SCRIPTBIN_WRITE.BAT. choose option "1) full_img.fex". get makeimg tool from this link http://bit.ly/makeimg-goprawn . create a new folder "3". unzip makeimg into folder "3". put full_img.fex from folder "2" into folder "3". run MAKEIMG.BAT . run Phoenixsuit and load the new 'goprawn.img' into Phoenixsuit. follow the process steps in my video but skip steps you have already done, TIME 13:50 https://youtu.be/QrTxFjIiHvc?t=830

Thanks petesimon! I have learned a lot from your and nutsey's posts. The video isn't too bad from the camera, but it still needs more vibration dampening. Maybe some sort of "superview" mode can be added to the firmware. Right now I think the vibration is too much for post processing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLLKKdD-s2o

oh, very cool drone flying! i'm not sure, but maybe check the balance of all propellers. and try some bubble-wrap, foam-rubber, yellow cleaning sponge or some other impact/shock absorbing soft materials around the camera first before you affix it to the drone frame. Check RCGROUPS and similar forums for tips https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/index.php . Also, 1080p 60fps mode might be better for fast moving scenes and be sure to use a good quality high speed Class 10 or UHS [3] sd card such as a Samsung EVO Plus

I already have the motors soft-mounted with 4 blade props and had some foam under the camera, but added more all around it. The camera is pressed up against the battery and causing the most noise (going to add some foam between them); I assume this because I don't get the noise in the FPV camera. I am using a Sandisk ultra plus class 10 (only UHS1) so not really the best. I will give it a try with 60fps and more foam and see if it is any better later today. Thanks for the suggestions!

welcome! when you wrote "noise" are you referring to electronic noise or electromagnetic interference (EMI) such as spots, blocks or lines in video footage?

or just physical shaking / jittering?

Physical vibrations that cause the "jello effect;" the transmitted video from the FPV camera is great (I may reinstall the DVR board for video comparison). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xvsg2_flcaU is the latest video with extra padding and 60fps from the Bototek camera... I will try again soon with 30fps and see if the video is better. I may get a better SD card, but I think I am asking too much from a 30 dollar China special.

Hi, I would like to know how to use this, please.

I have a Elephone Elecam Explorer X. Recently I installed the latest firmware available from the Gearbest website and then my camera was frozen.
Well, the camera actually initiate but only appears "DARE TO BE" with a image of a surfer. And nothing more.

I think that I install an update that was not from my camera, but I want to install the correct one or return to my Stock and I can't, because I have to enter to the main settings and that's no possible.

                  Thanks!
