yes, minimal Android 4.2 (or maybe 4.2.2)

  • That's kinda cool..

So doe sthat mean it is possible to do more than use the camera app the Act74 come's with? Could we install another app? or is that not possible?

    as to which android this suggests 4.2.2 ro.build.display.id=fx1gddr4k30imx179s90fps_sdv-eng 4.2.2 JDQ39 eng.yj.20180622.163031 test-keys

    PS
It is worth noting the ApkInstaller actually see the device!!!

other mobile apps that are compatible for use with Allwinner V3(s) cameras do exist such as 'XDV" or "SportCAM" or "SportLook" or "HotShot" or "GoAction" and more. so yes you could install and use another app.

do you want firmware for a bcare x5 camera?

  • I've got the firmware of a Nikkei Extreme X6, which is a Dutch rebranded F60 allwinner V3. In the coming weeks I will also get some other models (one V3S as well probably), so I can share them here as well. Details can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/b10he5jv7...tRROT3pma?dl=0

The fwinfo script could not obtain any information about the sensor. I don't know if someone is able to figure it out?

I want to create some custom firmware for this chipset, to make this easier I want to be able to boot from the SD card. I've found some resources about this, but it isn't completely clear for me. Is it correct that I need to create a bootable image with Phoenix Card, change the firmware (with a hex editor or dd) with my custom build and put it on the card? And then it just boots from there without overwriting the firmware on the camera itself?

      Thank you for figuring out.

I did some tests with PhoenixCard yesterday and managed to run something off the SD card, it was a white screen though.
You mentioned that you don't know how to do it correctly, but did you manage to do it in a kind of hacky way?

Did you use compatible firmware ... same Sensor and same LCD ?

Good question. Hehe. 😁 But I don't remember.

  • I got the Nikkei Extreme X6S camera today, which is the sister of the other camera i've got. This one uses the Allwinner V3S chip and a imx175 instead of a
ov4689_sdv and uses a different LCD controller. I haven't looked in to the differences firmware yet. I've added the firmware to the dropbox folder: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/b10he5jv7...tRROT3pma?dl=0

I'm still working on the SD card boot for the X6, I found a u-boot online which starts from the SD card, but doesn't have the right LCD drivers. It also goes further with the internal kernel instead of the kernel on the SD card. The U-boot on the camera itself doesn't work on an SD card, then nothing happens.

    • I have bought the Salora ACE700 (called ACE800 in specific shops like BCC) here in The Netherlands.
I would really want to know what the base cam / white label cam is for this one? I don't find a lot of cams with 2 LCD's and specifically with this small vertical front LCD?!
However, it's an Allwinner v3 with Sony IMX179s. Specs in Salora's manuals, spec sheets and site don't match, but of course I now know what the truth is:

      Code:
      Rebranded Salora ACE700 (= Salora ACE800)
      Type 6282
      EAN 8719325055221
      S/N 2018xxxxx
      Manufacturer lzm
      Short ID chuangshengda
      Product csd25fps179-sdv
      Firmware 20180130 9000TS001.V1.2 (in menu 20180202)

      DSP/SoC Allwinner V3
      Sensor Sony IMX179s (= IMX175?) 8MP (3264*2448)(size 1/3.2")(pixel 1.40 mcm)
      Lens 170 degrees
      LCD Back 2.0" st7789vshxlb / ST7789VLB (320*240)
      LCD Front 0.66" (front)
      Photores 16M(4608*3456), 12M(4032*3024), 8M(3264*2448), 5M(2592*1944)
      Videores 4Ki(3840*2160 25fps), 2.7K(30fps), FHD(1920*1080 60/30fps), HD(1280*720 120/60/30fps)
      Format JPEG MOV H.264
      Mic Built-in
      MicroSD/TFT Max 32GB / 64GB? (SDHC/SDXC?)
      WiFi b/g/n

      HDMI Micro
      Battery 3.7V 900mAh
      Dimensions 61*41*30mm
      Weight 44g

Then I used Nutsey's great scripts (unfex-scripts-getfwinfo_20170424_update.zip)(via Facebook, because his Dropbox link is dead!) to get the FWINFO:
      Code:

Anyone knows more clones (with vertical front LCD), newer firmwares for this cam (2019? 2020?!), or any neat hacks, tricks or tweaks?

I manage the dropbox account that is responsible for that 'dead' link. It's been exhibiting problems -- either the dropbox account is 100% full and this causes problems, or the dropbox company has made their policy for public links of shared files more restrictive, or something else.

Please first try to sign-in to your own dropbox account before clicking on those dropbox links, especially mine, hehe This could maybe alleviate the 'dead' link.
