Can the EKEN 2 button remote control be paired with a V3 sports xdv camera, I assume a firmware update may be necessary.

Here is a V3-based camera remote control PCB. There are two chips soldered on the other side, but they lack any markings.

What does the remote look like assembled. Is there a menu option on the camera for the remote?

Sounds like it is built into a version of SW or FW, finding that out is the key.

It's not going to work if you camera lacks the RF module.

It has WIFI and connects with APP on phone, the remote is supposed to work at 2.4G.

Yes. But the RC uses its own circuit with dedicated antenna on the camera side.
