  • Can someone help me find out which sensor is inside this camera?

Hi, I am a newbie here and just got my first V3 camera. From the file info of the pictures I took, it says the camera has V3, but no information about the sensor. I suspect it is a low-end 2M sensor even if on the manufacturer's website it says the sensor would be sony 179. Can you guy help me to find out which sensor it is or it is truly a V3 camera?

the image quality seems quite nice. the camera resembles a Tekcam F60R (with wireless remote) but this is just an example ...

    Hi,

You can get all the information about your cam from firmware backup: https://www.goprawn.com/forum/allwin...action-cameras

Use the script and share the link to the files here.

Hi, nutsey and petesimon, thanks for the help. I just upload the backup file to dropbox. I couldn't get the lcd and lens info when I run the GETINFO script. Can you help me to get the firmware info? I am just curious to find out which sensor is in this camera?

hello. did you upload a firmware backup file to your own dropbox or to my dropbox 'request' folder ?

if you uploaded a file to your own dropbox, then please click the 'share' button that is next to the file name, and copy/paste the link here

I just upload the firmware backup file to your public shared folder.
    https://www.dropbox.com/request/NUqzrXSnEOR72QUz3kLn
Can you help me to get the firmware info? When I run the script, I run into some errors. Do you think the picture I took on this camera is good enough? Why it seems to me the picture taken from Samsung S6 front camera (5M) is better than this? Is this camera supposed to have a better picture than those with OV4689(4Mm) sensor? Thanks for your help.

hi. thanks. is this your file? https://www.dropbox.com/s/povbw0lvt9...4kCam.zip?dl=0

I see that four .ko module (drivers) files for sensors are attempted to be loaded into memory at boot time. I am not sure, but your sensor is either imx179s or ov4689.

Maybe connect your camera to computer via USB cable try these 'adb' commands to show which module was successfully loaded into memory. And look for something like "imx179s 160859 0 - Live 0xbf01f000 (O)" in the output
      Code:
      adb kill-server
      adb root
      adb remount
      adb shell lsmod
      .
be sure to use these 20170424 scripts https://www.dropbox.com/s/fnb4c3ypxy...pdate.zip?dl=0 for full_img.fex that is 12058624 bytes size

or use these scripts https://www.dropbox.com/s/vf22hrxggl...ll_fw.zip?dl=0 for full_img.fex that is 7798784 bytes size.
