Maybe its an filesystem or card error. try the tool h2testw to verify errors and correct them.

No its an M12 thread in the Firefly 8SE. But you have to check if the lens are made for 1/2 or 1/2.3

Are any specs available for those lenses?

      The original lens:
      M12 2.5mm F2.5 FOV 166 Degree (3MP)
      M12 3.6mm F2.5 FOV 90 Degree (3MP)

      Modified and Buyed

      > Starlight (Ultra Low Light)
      M12 4mm F1.0 ( https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000614509015.html ) + IR Filter (3 MP)
      M12 6mm F1.0 ( https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000624990605.html ) + IR Filter (3 MP)
      M12 12mm F1.5 ( https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32959887246.html ) + IR Filter (3 MP) - maybe light vignetting but super strong low light

      > High Resolution
      M12 5mm F2.0 ( https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33006094239.html ) (12 MP)

      > Ultra Wide Angle
      M12 1.66mm F2.0 ( https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000637713194.html ) + IR Filter (2 MP)

      > Low Distortion
      M12 4.2mm F1.8 ( https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32724089837.html ) + IR Filter (3 MP)

      * You will need an IR Filter sticked on the backside of the lens to get the correct colors (It cuts out the IR Spectrum of the Light)

Light Transmission calculating by the focal length of the lens, divided by the F-stop. higher values are better and more light is transfered to the sensor!

        For example:
        10mm / F2 = light transmission rate of 5

        For the original lens
        2.5mm / F2.5 = 1
        3.6mm / F2.5 = 1,44

        For the Mod
        4mm / F1.0 = 4 (4x more light than the 2.5mm original lens)
        6mm / F1.0 = 6 (6x more ... )
        12mm / F1.5 = 8 (8x more light ... 8 FULL EV reduced!)

One full EV will reduce the ISO from 800 to 400, or 400 to 200 etc ... four will reduce the iso from 3200 to 200 or 1600 to 100

BTW the F-number is a theoretic value, the real light amount transmitted throught the lens is expressed by the T-number. I'm thinking about building a test rig for measuring T-numbers for M12 lenses.

Thats completely correct. The T-Number is the reality value, a F number is a theoretical value. But you can see the difference, and the T-Stops are not shown on the lenses so i used the F stop numbers.

    • A shot check with no environment light (only the led's on the servers) ... left original 3.6mm F2.5 lens - right a old 3mm F1.5 lens from my old MOBIUS action camera mod (1.2 MP resolution) mounted on the Firefly 8SE with your ModX

Hi, did you find the M12 3.6mm F2.5 FOV 90 Degree (3MP) lens? If so, could you share the link where you ordered it from?

Where did you get this information? Or is it a guess?

Direct from the producer hawkeye. I mailed them directly via website, because a lens is cracked and I've need a replace one. So they give me the specifications that i can take as an replacement.

    • Hi guys, first post here. I would like to ask if i can use my 8SE as a webcam or as IP cam. I read a few pages back that 8S cam was able by using an RTSP enabler.
      Thanks.

You can try this way: https://www.goprawn.com/forum/ambare...7503#post17503

IP cam feature will probably require some adjustments of Wi-Fi settings. Like changing SSID/IP and working mode from AP to STA or P2P.

Thanks for the reply. I made a search and It's more expensive to buy a dongle than to buy a web camera or an IP one. Thanks again.

    • I think with the last update the HDMI Output is broken. Can you check it nutsey ?

    • Does anyone need ISO 3200 for stills? It looks quite noisy but can be useful to reduce motion blur.

ISO 3200 is too high for this camera. Could be usable for frame averaging.
Exposure bracketing would be a killer feature.

Absolutely doable with unlocked autoexec script commands. I've encountered some problems with sharpness/NR when exposure set manually. But anyway that's possible.

    • Thanks a lot Nutsey for the firmware for this camera with V firmware. I was really disappointedwhen I bought this camera because I couldn't connect to firefly app or the few times it did I had no image, but I tried again today with your fw, and miraculously the firefly app is now working. I don't see you said u did anything about that, but well, now it's working ;-) and I imagine the image will be better too. Thanks, cheers.

PS: does anybody know an android app to do a simple shutter/mode change/power off in bluetooth ? Like a physical little remote would do but in an app? I guess that should be possible but can't find one. Thanks!

Androhid should work. Use autoexec.ash script commands to run bt_start.sh and bt_start_hid.sh with custom settings to connect your phone.

Can't wait to test out your new firmware - hopefully there will be an adapted version for the Firefly 8S too. Thank you for your efforts.

        • New Hi-Res FullHD 30 fps video mode is implemented. Tighter FOV (~63 degrees compared to ~83 for stock 1080p30 mode with "90-degree" lens) but much better resolution and fine details.

          Normal 1080p30:
