  • GETINFO script for A12 cams.

This script is intended to use with action cams based on Ambarella A12 SoC. It gathers RTOS log and lists some of available commands. The output is saved to the LOG.TXT file.

    getinfo_script.zip
    google.drive link

If you run this script and share the LOG.TXT and your camera details this can help to research and hack Ambarella A12 platform.

You can also find a lot of interesting info if your cam connects with "telnet 192.168.42.1", login:root.

For example you can "dmesg > /tmp/SD0/dmesg.txt".

      Where we see this:

H8s should be based on Panasonic MN34110 sensor, your cam uses IMX078, so it is most likely to be H8 Pro model.

howdy! yesterday I got an Eken H8 Plus in the mail from Aliexpress ( link https://goo.gl/DFeQbM ) and it seems to be working fine. Ez iCam 2.1.0 app for wifi works fine, but other ambarella a12 apps do not work. and firmware is factory installed STD 20170223. I still have more testing and recording of normal footage to do...

Anyway, nutsey I ran your getinfo autoexec.sh script. Also, I made an amba linux info script and ran that in a telnet terminal connection. log.txt and info.txt files are attached.

Note: "t ipc rpc clnt exec2 'cat /proc/cpuinfo' > c:\cpuinfo.txt" command does not work. I think any "t ipc ..." command will not work.

download ambainfo script, and read the 'readme.txt' file inside - https://www.dropbox.com/s/hx7jydmpb2...cript.zip?dl=0
        .
Many more photos of my cam are here - https://ibb.co/album/mTk58v

                    Hi Nutsey,
thanx for all your work on this site. I own a bricked Andoer AN8000. At the moment there are no firmwares available, so I need to find other solutions to "unbrick" it.
I discovered that the camera is not completely dead: in fact, I can connect to the telnet shell (192.168.42.1) and type commands.
The problem is: most of the commands that I find listed in this and other sites are not available on my camera!
In particular I have no "t" command, no "ambash" and no "firmfl". I have no idea how to proceed from here and, in particular, how to reset to factory default!
                    Can someone help me?

By the way: the camera got bricked by itself - I was not updating or flashing any firmware or strange file.

Please, I really need to factory-reset the camera through telnet... Any advice?

                      Hi, Firefly S8 V1.0.51

Let me know if I can grab anything else before I upgrade FW.

I can't connect via telnet (but I can see SD card in browser)
Update: YES, I can. Sorry if mislead you.

                        Hi,
Thanx for sharing! There is no simple way to dump an A12 firmware (V51 was not offered to download by Hawkeye) so feel free to update your cam to the latest V57.

Hi, HawKeye Firefly 8S, firmware 1.0.57, 90 degree lens version

Pretty amazing all the knowledge about these cameras you guys have gathered on this board.

I want to control this camera from a Raspberry PI via USB, I will post a question about that in a new thread.

                      Thanks!
