I picked up one of these and it seems like a decent little camera for the price
4k60 +eis +fisheye correction looks good
1080p and other lower resolutions look nice and sharp.
bitrate is high 80mbit but image still a little blocky
low light is brightness is good but noisy.
only problem for me with this camera was the Long Exposure and low light shots.
Crazy amounts of Hot Pixels in long exposure!!
Taken with FH02A Long Exposure
Taken with FH02A Long exposure
I took another Long Exposure shot from a different cheaper camera (Victure AC940) and there was NO hot pixels...
It sure is a lot of pixels to try to map out in software...
perhaps the image sensor is defective

Says it has 4K HDMI out, is that true? Can is do 1080P out? What's the frame rate on HDMI? on the XTU X2 it's 30fps.
My XTU X2 has a few issues, that make me want to look for an alternative platform.
If HDMI out is used, the ISO and shutter are set to auto regardless of settings
If HDMI out is used, can't control the camera by wi-fi.
If possible can someone check this?
Anything anyone else wants to know about this camera?

It looks like this camera might be discontinued. I'll ask about the HDR stills, but I'm told Hi3559A is discontinued. Might be worth a thread about the status of these HiSilicon Chips. It seems Huawei doesn't have the ability to produce 8nm chips, only 28nm

Your right, One of the above posts has it written as Hi3559, but the Hi3556A is being discontinued too as it's 12nm and still not something they can produce. This is info from Peter at HiView (check them on github https://github.com/openhisilicon) who specialize in development boards for HiSilicon products. I thought maybe to get one, but very few options of supported chips right not.

My FH02A from HDKing does not have settings for HDR, and takes 16MP stills.
I received XTU X1 today, it has two EIS settings with different amounts of crop, instead of just on/off.
The X1 also has the HDR option for stills and 20MP option. The Auto white balance seems warmer than FH02A. The XTU X1 still has the hot pixel issue in Long Exposure mode, seems like a common problem for Hi3556A action cams?
You cannot get RAW output for Long Exposure shots with this camera, so the hot pixels are baked into the JPG output which is unfortunate.
My FH02A has clearer lens, but the XTU X1 is wider FOV, I see more distortion and blurry on the edges.
I prefer the less crop of the X1 EIS so I put up with the worse lens.
