  • Xanes A2 Action Camera Novatek 96660 Panasonic Sensor (Banggood)

Howdy. I purchased this budget touch screen camera from Banggood http://bit.ly/XanesA2ActionCamera $49.99 + $1.50 shipping, and I am waiting delivery for it.

Here is the user manual, PDF - http://pc.cd/nwictalK

Later, I will post here more information about the camera and samples videos/photos from the camera.

Looks to be similar with Akaso Brave 5.

Looks interesting at that price, even though it comes without waterproof case included. Which Panasonic sensor is it?

Edit: a bit OT, but this one in presale doesn't look bad either if it's true A12 https://www.banggood.com/EKEN-V50-Pr...r_warehouse=CN

I believe it has the iCatch V50 chip inside.

I hope the spec "Waterproof : 10m without waterproof case" is true AND I can somehow get a waterproof case or dome-bubble for the camera later. Dunno what exact sensor is there, but I also hope that the Panasonic sensor doesn't make crap video like in an Eken v8s.

The Eken V50 more likely has a Sunplus V50 chip (not A12) and IMHO sub-100$ cameras with that chip produce 'okay' 4k and 'okay' 2k but really crappy bad 1080p. I know this because I have the MGCOOL Explorer 3 that has the came chip. I should sell that thing away to recover some cash. And if I'm gonna do 2k and 4k then I will use a real A12 camera such as the Firefly 8s. Well anyway, I have owned / am owning cameras that have Allwinner V3, Novatek 96660, A12, SPCA6350 and V50 chips.... and I like only two of those chips: the Novatek 96660 and A12. They are best paired with a Sony IMX~~~ sensor!

I could guess that the Vikcam V50 is quite similar to Eken V50 -- https://www.geekbuying.com/item/Vikc...le-387851.html

Oh nice, I didn't notice it was already waterproof in its own, but yeah, I'd still have a couple of doubts... I can't find any info anywhere about the Panasonic sensor, unfortunately. I think I'll go for the Soocoo C50 at similar price...

zioroby6 - alright also checkout the Andoer AN5000 ( link here ) and likenesses of it: DBPOWER N5, Akaso Brave 4, etc.

nutsey posted a link to chinavasion, and "Sensor: Panasonic 16 Mega CMOS Sensor 34112" is written there, among other things. Hm I doubt the .MOV file spec is correct.

For some reason the order I placed yesterday on the Soocoo C50 was closed. I had to worry because the sale price was ending, but now it has been enlarged for 3 more days... I've been watching some videos on YouTube from cameras with Panasonic 34112 and it looks like a good sensor. Now I'm seriously considering this Xanes A2 because it might be interesting for being waterproof and being sold by Banggood which has a faster shipping to Italy and quite good reputation... 😅

this Soocoo C50 is under $50
        https://www.aliexpress.com/item/SOOC...860359883.html

also consider a look-a-like Yagoo8 (single LCD) for under $55
        https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Ntk9...783023334.html

        or Firefly 7s look-a-like Sungo S9100 for under $55

That's the C50 I ordered, it comes out about 44$ shipped with new customer coupon, but I might have to pay duties (Banggood and Gearbest have a shipping method avoiding customs in Italy). I might try to make a new order...
With regard to the Yagoo it comes with just a few accessories, and at 50$ there is also the Soocoo C30 which is a good contender.
I don't know about the S9100, if it's worth the additional bucks or not... Probably the C50 is the best bang for the buck, even though with custom duties it might cost up to 60$. I'll check Banggood and Gearbest later on if there's a good deal like the Xanas A2 which seems good for the price...

If you're willing to pay up to $60 to get a camera mailed into your country, then I suggest a Extral SJ8000 Novatek camera or similar camera from Gearbest/Banggood/Geekbuying / Cafago etc. *EDIT* There are many options... and flash sales and discount/coupon codes....so keep looking for a good deal.

Also, if you haven't seen my info about the Soocoo C50 then check this link - https://www.goprawn.com/forum/novate...=3942#post3942

Yeah, I had already seen your post about it, but if you advice the SJ8000 from Banggood I'll follow your suggestion, it's about 50$ right now. Is it this one: https://www.banggood.com/it/Real-Ult...p-1008020.html ? Because there are others named SJ8000 on Banggood...
By the way, last question, what about this one at 43$ shipped by Amazon.it with its warranty: https://www.amazon.it/RLY-FCtouch4K-...z0L&ref=plSrch ? I don't know what's a clone of, but it's the cheapest Novatek 96660 + IMX078 on Amazon.it
        Thanks!

yes that (Extral) SJ8000 on Banggood with Novatek/imx078 is right, and should be the same as this https://youtu.be/PLP4gXBzysM . I don't know what accessories are included / excluded there from Banggood so be sure to see some unboxing/review articles and videos about that cam. Different chinese brands are selling this same ORLY FTouch such as Wimius -- http://www.wimius.com/viewProduct/CA...on-Camera.html . but the waterproof case is uniquely shaped so to find a replacement case when it's needed will be almost impossible. The Yagoo7 / Extral-SJ8000 use common SJ4000 waterproof cases that are less than $10 USD everywhere.
