MOD2. 4K modes replaced with 2K 24fps and 1080p30 (note that modes shown in UI are not changed).
Bitrate values changed (see the table above) reaching 45Mbps for some modes.
What's new:
1. Bitrate values and 4K modes changed like in MOD2.
2. 5M and 3M still resolutions were transformed to 4M and 2M. 4M is 1/2 of full sensor resolution in both directions, 2M is 1920x1080 which can be used for FullHD timelapses without any resizing.
3. AE table for CarDVR mode is adjusted.
4. Some text UI entries are fixed to match the changes.
2017-04-29 update: bitrate values for 2.5K LOW and 1080P30 LOW/MED/HIGH are fixed.
I can not find the answer is there an opportunity to walk through the firmware on a step-by-step basis?
We install the STOP command in the firmware and run the firmware on the DVR and determine where the stop is?
Hi Nutsey, I have experimented some with the git2 using it for long exposure photography. This way I can leave a fairly small and unnoticable camera out in the open for a couple of hours and make it shoot in timelapse mode, and not having to worry about it when it starts raining as it is well protected against that.
I already managed to get some decent startrail images with it by selecting the maximum exp time of 1 minute, 800 iso and timelapse. I also plan to shoot meteor showers and thunderstorm lightning this way.
However there is a problem, the exposure time is capped to half of the actual time that you set it to, so a 60 second exp will only give you 30 seconds in reality. The remaining 30 seconds will be used for a dark image that is then subtracted from the image to process the final jpg endresult. This way it will remove the unwanted noise created by dead pixels. But this continous shooting of darks is not needed, one can just shoot 1 and subtract that same dark to all the images shot.
How hard (if possible at all) would it be to modify the firmware as to disable this dark frame shots, and having it use the full length exposure time when set to say 1 minute?
Hey Nutsey,
i have and use the original Git2 for shooting on my mini quad (freestyle drone). Is it possible to get 4/3 1440 60 on this Cartan? Reason I ask is Superview (GoPro style, I.e. only stretching the outer edges of 4/3 image) makes the footage look better (faster looking flight). GoPro has free software to create Superview from 4/3 1440p 60 footage... I just need my camera to do it! I think a few racing/freestyle drone pilots would love it if possible. Cheers
