mc92661 - okay. also consider SJ8 Plus or SJ8 Pro.

OK. I just misunderstood your comment...
I was just thinking to buy a C50 but without MODx I will save some money and go for the Firefly 8SE (although SJ7 Star is at the same price here in Greece)...

you mean that you flashed 7S MODx firmware to Soocoo C50 succesfully?
no. never tried. this will likely brick the Sooccoo. but if the processor chip and sensor and LCD are exactly the same, then it may work alright.

but I sold my ff7s and Soocoo's some time ago...

Hello, I make videos with drones and it would be very useful to limit this camera to shutter speeds less than 1/400 or set high iso, One way is to modify the tables of auto-exposure. How can I locate the offset of each video mode in the binary?

I didn't use my Firefly 7s for several months, because I was using my Yagoo7 (clone of an Extral SJ8000 Novatek). But I recorded some footage of swimming in April 2018, so here are unprocessed (but only stream cut) video samples. Official Hawkeye 20170329 firmware with gyro ON, bit rate LOW was used.

I saw some specs for this cam on Aliexpress and it was nonexistent "IMX079" sensor stated there

okay. thanks for the tips nutsey. but I don't have any SPI flash tool stuff. I might disassemble the camera someday.

by the way, the settings menu mimics the Firefly 7s but with fewer features. so it's something more like an Explorer Rexso Dual camera. and the max photo res is 20 MP in settings.

EXIF from a 20 MP photo shows this res.
    Code:
    ExifImageWidth - 5120
    ExifImageHeight - 3840

    3264x2448 pixel count matches IMX179 / OV8865 / AR0833 sensors.

"How can I know that the hardware / sensor / LCD is exactly the same same as Firefly 7s or AC-Robin Zed2 ?"
    1. Disassembling and visual control.
    2. Disassembling and dumping SPI flash memory.

yes. you can't brick your 7s, because you can just flash (load) Hawkeye firmware again without a problem

Has anyone tried out the latest firmware released by AC Robin?

    Zed2 V1.1 25.12.2017 http://www.ac-robin.com/upload/iblock/0a3/ROBIN02X.bin

Is it fully compatible with Firefly 7s?

    Thanks!

Yes, AR0238 is 2.1Mp with 1920x1080p60 output. This sensor definitely can compete with Sony IMX322/323 in low-light shooting.
Working...
