BTW here is the whole Blackview family: http://www.szdome.com/product-default-cid-94-1.html
      710/s = NT96658 + 3Mp AR0330
      750/s = NT96660 + 16Mp MN34120
      760s = NT96660 + unknown 12Mp sensor (IMX078?)

      nutsey - thanks!
I'm still looking for Blackview 760 (no front screen) firmware update that would work on a Soocoo C50

I didn't use my Firefly 7s for several months, because I was using my Yagoo7 (clone of an Extral SJ8000 Novatek). But I recorded some footage of swimming in April 2018, so here are unprocessed (but only stream cut) video samples. Official Hawkeye 20170329 firmware with gyro ON, bit rate LOW was used.

I don't know if it's a HW or SW issue; but when LCD is off, device emits audible electrical noise sound and microphone picks it, so you got weird sounds in your video. I hope it can be issued by a FW update.

How do i go about updating firmware on the F88 camera? I tried formatting a 32GB card and used the 3-29 Firefly firmware (.bin file) and powered on.... didn't do anything.

I also tried downloading the Zed 2 firmware.... same--did nothing upon power on.

is it checking a checksum? Do i need to absolutely use a 8GB or 16GB card? I also formatted my Samsung micro to FAT32 and also formatted using the camera itself.

I guess you need to know the filename for firmware. If you are sure in what you're doing try renaming it to 'FW96660A.bin'.

Try different filenames. I am just guessing for some...

      F88.bin
      FIREFLY.bin
      FIREFLY7.bin
      FIREFLY6.bin
      ACTIONCAM.bin
      FW96660A.bin
      FIRMWARE.bin
      4KSPORTS.bin
      SPORTS4K.bin
      88ACTION.bin
      ACTION88.bin
      CAMERA88.bin
      88CAMERA.bin

Oh, I didn't know it had to be a specific file name. I guess i was under the assumption that others have used other firmwares with the F88 camera.

Current camera firmware says "NTK96660/F Series 0802".... does that give any information as to what file name i should narrow it down to?

not sure. try all of them. but FW96660A.bin last.

also, you might need a "loader" file such as LD96660A.bin, but again not sure. nutsey and Old Yeti or another forum member might know.

hmm.... i guess i am now scared to flash another cam's firmware on this F88 camera. I may be tempted to try it, since the cam was only $40 on amazon. I figured it looks exactly like the 7S, which is primarily the reason i bought it. (most places selling the 7S did not have amazon prime). The specs look identical too.

Used camera 4-5 times, front Power/Mode button's click has gone. Button works okay, but no click or another feedback, it's like a wall. I have no idea why it happened itself. Also any ideas to fix it easily?

you mean that you flashed 7S MODx firmware to Soocoo C50 succesfully?
no. never tried. this will likely brick the Sooccoo. but if the processor chip and sensor and LCD are exactly the same, then it may work alright.

but I sold my ff7s and Soocoo's some time ago...

OK. I just misunderstood your comment...
I was just thinking to buy a C50 but without MODx I will save some money and go for the Firefly 8SE (although SJ7 Star is at the same price here in Greece)...

        Hi,

Is it safe to use the firmware ROBIN02X.bin to update my Firefly 7s purchased from Gearbest.com ? https://www.gearbest.com/action-came...68.html?wid=21

Thank you so much for your advice.

        Regards,

Hi, my MODx custom firmware is based on it: https://www.goprawn.com/forum/novate...ustom-firmware

From my own experience it is safe to use, but remember you might want to use a microsd card fast enough to match 'High' bitrate for some video modes.

yes. I also purchased from Gearbest. *Change the file name to FIREFLY7.bin

at anytime you can later flash official Hawkeye firmware or other 100% compatible firmware to the camera without a problem.

nutsey petesimon Thanks for your reply, appreciate it.

WOW, MOD3 is really a good firmware, I will definitely flash my Firefly 7s using this firmware. By the way, is the Samsung EVO Class 10 U3 64gb good enough?

any [U3] will work good. such as my Toshiba Exceria, 32GB, U3
But I also use a Kingston, 64GB, U1 just fine.

I think so. It should also work with even less speedy cards.

hey, is this Lottour X6 camera the same as a Firefly 7s with a small front LCD, and NT96660 SoC, and IMX078 sensor ?
... or is the sensor Panasonic MNxxxx ?

The sensor is IMX078. Note that this firmware is rather outdated (aug 2016).

Somebody tell me whether Sony or Panasonic sensors are inside these cams

Has anyone tried out the latest firmware released by AC Robin?

          Zed2 V1.1 25.12.2017 http://www.ac-robin.com/upload/iblock/0a3/ROBIN02X.bin

Is it fully compatible with Firefly 7s?

          Thanks!
