    Nice review.
T5/t5e (Sunco SO91) can turn LED's off in menu? So not included, that's strange. Maybe f/w update. Wondering if T5 Edge (Sunco SO95) and pretty sure same as E7 but different case, has this option removed also?
Many leaks were also around waterproof case mounting screws cracked during manufacture and seals around buttons as well.

Unlike T5 Edge/E7 the Sunco SO95 DOES have the LED OFF 1,2,3,4 option in menu. Just ThiEYE have not included.
Same with the Resolution options, Sunco and Vikcam have the NTSC/PAL set. In other words way too many LOL

Did not find any thing that refers to the LED.
Perhaps later they will. One of the other issue I discovered was if mounted near the windscreen, all this light reflects off the glass and effects the footage.

salesberg Strange no LED select All On or 1,2 or 3 Off?
One thing is definitely different is the Sunco (SO71/91/95 same size as T5e) waterproof case build standard. Never noticed before but close inspection, much tighter tolerances on latch, the metal rod doesn't bend when locked and overall better around button seals and lens mount.
Haven't got a cam to take pics that detailed close up so you can compare sadly but I was quite surprised at the difference.

in TI/UN8-180206-V5.0 firmware, there is no stabilization for 1080 p 30 fps

petesimon 1080p60 my "go too" resolution but strange no EIS at 1080p30? All that extra "time" to do the stabilization and they don't? Not like a file size problem with older cams not limited with new EPROM's like ChipSip SoC etc

Confused about E7 menu. Maybe changed since latest firmware upgrade and made both the same?

    Here is ThiEYE E7 with it's own UI - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eNG8-2CJY4&t=216s (Jan 2018)

But here is ThiEYE E7 with ThiEYE T5 EDGEUI - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQgmXfx4cgk&t=178s (Feb 2018)

You can also note the lack of 'ThiEYE' logo for the cam in more recent review.

No I didn't. But it certainly is missing! Even i60's and T5/T5e etc had logo?
Add generic Virtoba Bluetooth wrist remote and you have a T5 EDGE.

nutsey Mine arrived with the original version F/W TI/UN8-171103v5.0. There are 2 upgrades so far but scared to use as the UI is just great, easy to move through and looks super cool (White text and Orange icons on black background) compared to T5 Edge block touch screen like format. Hate to lose it and cam seems quite stable and no faults so far!
The "reversed" Wind Noise Reduction" problem with T5 Edge (ON=OFF and OFF=ON) is fine on the E7 OFF is OFF. The E7 has a different "fan" shaped icon on LCD display, not a goofy "cartoon" like puff of wind icon. Stereo Audio (turns Mono in Wind Noise mode) is nice too. Setting are 1, 2, 3 or OFF

Just ordered a ThiEYE E7 from Geekbuying (best price) have a ThiEYE "Bluetooth" Voice Remote REMO already so will test on the E7 but word is that it works on both E7 and EDGE.

EDIT: Has arrived safely. Quick test and seems pretty good. Colour grading is similar to flat Sunco firmware unlike T5e and Edge that seem more saturated. Overall pleased with it 👍
Has original UI (not T5 Edge version) which is a great improvement over the standard menu list style system. Firmware Version TI/UN8-171103v5.0

NOTE: Low light night video not so good wit E7 and found Menu Setting 'Auto Low Light' option made no difference. Compared to T5e it is very dark, can't see anything except street and lights moving around in black LOL.

Vikcam V50 arrived. looks nice like T5 Edge but shiny silver 4K logo. Same as Sunco SO95. Has two batteries a bonus although PA1050 not later 1100mAh.

Only slight colour grade, more about the lens correction here using Power Director PD16. Not a lot of cropping using the "GoPro" menu setting, like Hero 4 Black etc I use for Ambarella A7/A12 SoC based cams.
    Working...
