  • $20 AIT8427+OV2710 dashcam from Amazon.

I've bought this dashcam because I was interested how bad it can be for the price. Here is the product link on Amazon.

    FullHD video samples (parking/sunny/cloudy):

    My first impressions:
    1. It is small so it does not block the view to the driver.
    2. It has two slots for memory cards.
    3. The image quality is very impressive for $20. Moreover, I found a way to increase the bitrate up to 20 Mbps (more on this later).
    4. It is powered by MicroUSB cable, not Mini-.
    5. It can work with internal battery recording 1080p30 for ~10 minutes.
    6. The design is not completely stealth, but there are no shiny or chrome-like parts on its front panel!
    7. It has a Russian brother - Ritmix AVR-620 and a Russian cousin - Trendvision TDR-200.
    8. OV2710 low-light performance competes with IMX323.

Here is how the bitrate can be increased to 20 Mbit/s.

Click image for larger version Name:	mediainfo.gif Views:	1 Size:	14.2 KB ID:	9818

      Download this file: usercfg.txt

and put it to the root of your memory card. It also sets EV to -0,7 and disables on-screen stamps.

If you want to boost the bitrate without other modifications use this file: usercfg.txt

Upd: Please use links below. You can revert settings to defaults by deleting/renaming the file and using factory reset.
