I received this in my mail from Gearbest a few days ago. Gearbest support told me that they do not sell a compatible battery for this camera. The battery is taller (longer) and thinner than SJCAM4000 batteries, so SJCAM4000 batteries won't go into the camera at all.

Big question: Where are extra batteries for this camera?

T5 Edge and E7 are absolutely identical, only the case and appearance. Remote is same for both Edge and E7 using re-badged Virtoba bluetooth 4.0 remote.

Well silly me. Bought the Vikcam V50 believing that if Aliexpress AND GeekBuying wrote out the same MENU Options it MUST be correct. NO ... Vikcam is missing a ton of options like LED OFF,1,2,3,4 , the long list of NTSC/PAL video resolutions etc etc. I think they cut-n-pasted Sunco SO95 or possibly Akaso V50 but a serious dead loss. Same firmware as original E7 just a different splash screen jpg and H.265 codec selectable but not available on E7

First tests with the V50 and Panasonic sensor look decent. Very decent.

1080p isn't as sharp as I hope but 4k with stabilization is quite nice. Firmware updates can definitely improve the 1080p.

Pete: Yeah I mentioned that in my unboxing. I too thought it was a front LCD, a bit misleading that it is not. It doesn't even light up. Maybe it's possible to mod the cam with an LED there or something more useful?

My mistake. Should have mentioned it was just a logo next to the (Sunco SO71/91 series variants) front LED's when posting specs.

A couple T5e vs T5edge 100% crops at 1080p and 4K. As suspected, the ThiEYE T5E has cleaner 1080p 60. At 4K it's a toss-up, and I think the T5e looks better when things are moving (cleaner, more detailed) but the addition of stabilization on the Edge gives it the overall advantage. Note: the EDGE has an advantage because of a slightly narrower FOV.

In a lower light situation like this it's less clear though - this is the only time I had when I got off work. I think the Edge might be a bit better in low light.

The Sunco SO71, SO91 and SO95 has a much stronger waterproof case, better catch, button seals and hinge rod better metal, no flexing and tighter seal. Never noticed until I had a closer look! Looked identical but wondered why it was harder to open the Sunco cases. No cracked latches or leaks like older T5e's reported. Had a latch break on T5e mic version myself.
